Bath
And finally, the bath!
Tiny though it is, this little room packs a serious quality punch, giving the cottage's kitchen a real run for its money.

The themes begun in the main room and kitchen are continued in the bath, thus unifying the whole.
Most outstanding, of course, is the hand-made custom cabinetry, which mirrors many of the same design elements used in the kitchen.
First painted a light and nautical navy blue, the bath cabinets, like those in the kitchen, are then sanded and varnished to give an antique appearance.
In the bath, antique-reproduction clear-glass handles and pulls dress the cabinetry.
Another nautical light, in a chrome-over-brass finish to match the other bath fixtures, illuminates the lavatory and countertop, which is tiled in a ceramic "watery" pattern, with veins of blue and seafoam green, bordered in white.

The design of the antique-reproduction bath faucet, in chrome over brass with contrasting white porcelain handles and stopper knob, is matched in the shower fixture (not shown).
Adding a touch of unexpected luxury is the heated ceramic-tiled floor, warmed by electric coils set in the underlayment during installation of the tile.
A wall-mounted thermostat controls the temperature setting of the tiled floor. Sweet!
Like the kitchen, the bathroom walls are painted in a light golden color. Beaded-board wainscoting in the same navy hue as the cabinetry gives a unity to the room while also providing a nice contrast to the warm yellow walls.
Following the theme begun in the kitchen, the solid-pine ceiling and skylight trimmed in pine bring in plenty of sunlight to this small but comfortable space.
